News and recommendations from the Escape2 project

Dear members of the Escape2 community,

The cold season is here and even though you might have already started planning for the winter holidays, we hope this edition of the newsletter will bring you something to look forward to as well.

We are happy to share with you our latest work and the progress of the project, propose two brand new touristic recommendations, and some thoughts on what to expect next.

Our last TPM in Ireland

September brought together the partners in beautiful Ireland to discuss the progress of the project and our up-coming tasks. The team also took the opportunity and, on September 27th, celebrated the World Tourism Day.

Setting up a high-quality transnational rural tourism strategy

The partnership has been working intensely on the second intellectual output of the project which is now in its final stages of implementation. The general aim of the output is to create a transnational strategy able to set up long-lasting sustainable and virtuous development mechanisms. After planning the course curricula each partner has worked on their assigned module and relevant case studies.

Beautiful destinations in Europe

Lišov Museum – Slovakia

Lišov, southern part of central Slovakia; Krupina district, border of Nitra and Bansko-Bystrica self-governing regions.

Thanks to the cultural events and festivals associated with the Lišov Museum, the village is known to tourists beyond the borders of the Hont region. The Lišov Museum has also financed the creation of the Masks Gallery, which contains an interesting collection of masks from different countries around the world, which also attracts foreign visitors.

Explore Bulgaria - Tran region

Tran is a region in Central Western Bulgaria and borders the Republic of Serbia.

Once the town of Trаn was the main town / center of the district, but today it is a small municipality, including 52 settlements (51 villages and the town of Trаn.) It is located 70 km. west of the capital Sofia.

What’s coming next?

We are planning and starting our work on the final output of the project: the How to set a high-quality strategy for rural tourism” online course.

The main goal is to show that having a strategy for rural tourism plays a major role in the economic growth of a region. The result will be a specific and innovative tool for developing the strategy, and it will demonstrate the advantages of working inside and with a network.
